Efficiency Initiative
Making laboratory energy use more visible through connected sensing and environmental data.

From sensing to useful data.
FHEEI brings together embedded devices, environmental measurements, telemetry, and a shared view of laboratory activity.
Mo serves as the project’s day-to-day manager and a technical contributor. His work includes adapting sensing firmware on an inherited platform, coordinating technical work, and developing project plans and reporting.

Connected hardware

Professor Alexander Mamishev, SEAL’s Director, has signed a letter supporting MSA’s evaluation for future FHEEI sensing, firmware, data infrastructure, research, and technical support.
FHEEI and RadGuard reflect Mo’s research contributions at UW SEAL. The letter supports consideration of a prospective MSA role in FHEEI.

Making AI behavior inspectable through original sources, repeatable evaluation, and a record of what worked and what failed.
Mo’s contribution
Mo leads UW research work spanning embedded AI, source retrieval, reproducible benchmarks, and response review. The engineering work preserves first attempts, links responses to source passages, and makes evaluation results easier for researchers to inspect.

MSA developed a library of reports, proposals, working spreadsheets, and presentations with a common structure for purpose, evidence, assumptions, and decisions.
The system includes calculation checks, consistent formatting, rendered reviews, and editable handoffs. It makes the quality of the underlying work easier to inspect.

That experience informs MSA’s work in reconciliation, cost allocation, management reporting, and organized financial records. Deliverables can include reviewable workpapers, reporting packages, and explained variances.
